Lori is the Yoga Consultant to Better Botanicals, contributing a feature column to their seasonal newsletter. She leads yoga retreats around the world, and is currently writing a book about Yoga and Qigong. She lives and teaches in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California.
Lori's journey into the healing arts began in 1997 when she discovered her passion for yoga. She began teaching yoga in 2001 and found that she is a natural-born teacher. After only three months of teaching, she left her corporate career behind and never looked back. Over the years, she has explored many styles of yoga, including Hatha Yoga, Integrative Yoga Therapy, Acu-Yoga, Yin Yoga, Jivamukti, Vinyasa, and Scaravelli. Her own teaching style draws from her experiences with world-renowned yogis such as Sarah Powers, Sharon Gannon, David Life, Rodney Yee, Judith Hanson Lasater, Saul David Raye, Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Cyndi Lee, Michael Reed Gach, and Erin Fleming.
Lori's study of yoga opened doors to an in-depth exploration of other energy healing arts, and she discovered that she is a natural-born healer. She enjoys sharing the gift of Reiki healing with private clients, and has witnessed some amazing transformations from energy healing. And she loves to practice and teach Qigong, a rich meditative movement form of healing. In the summer of 2008, Lori traveled to China to study Daoism and qigong with Master Wan Su-Jian of Beijing.
Lori has taught well over 4,000 hours of classes and workshops in a variety of disciplines in health clubs, YMCAs, fitness centers, corporate offices, and private sessions. Her teaching style is a blend of her extensive, eclectic experience in Eastern philosophy. Lori creates a relaxed, nurturing environment, that invites exploration of the body, breath, mind, energy, heart, and soul. She encourages students to carve their own path in their practice and discover their own wisdom within. There is no goal, no right or wrong--only the joy of the journey.
