It is a gorgeous day in Santa Rosa today. We’ve had many gorgeous days over the past couple of weeks. The birds are singing. The air is clear and fresh. All the spring blossoms and flowering trees seem a lot brighter this year. Even people seem a bit more upbeat. Perhaps this is because we, as a country, have been gloomy over the winter, with news of the dire state of the economy constantly coming at us. And this breath of springtime is a breath of fresh air for everyone. Spring gives us hope, the promise of new life. If seedlings can push through the crusty earth toward the sun, then perhaps we can come out of this hole we’ve gotten ourselves into. What a grand place we live in, where we can reach out and touch nature at every turn! This week marked 5 years in Santa Rosa for my husband and me, after a lifetime in Dallas. Ahhh. I am grateful to be here, to push through the earth, and lift my face toward the sun.
